Put this against any Pinot Noir from our own shores at the same price and this thing will go toe to toe with it for nine rounds. It's got a depth that we can't manufacture here, and acidity we can only dream of. Welcome to German Pinot Noir AKA Spatburgunder. Johannes Kopp specialises in it and this is a very kind invitation into his world. Ripe black cherry, fresh raspberry, and a bundle of baking spices. This spends nearly 2 years in old oak so complexity well and truly exists here. It's still a hell of a playful wine, it's bright and fresh and if you could chill it if you're that way inclined. Regardless, this is a bang for buck Pinot. Wunderbar!

About Kopp
Johannes Kopp is the 2nd Generation of the Kopp Estate, taking over the family vineyard and winery at just 22 in 2012. Since then, he's grown the vineyard holdings to 32ha and has converted all the vineyards to be Demeter certified bio-dynamic. Johannes and his partner Alina focus their effort on crafting great Spatburgunder, alongside Chardonnay, Weissburgunder and of course Riesling. Through these varieties, they hope to showcase the incredible diversity of soil that occurs in their unique pocket of the world.
