What a special wine. It's rare you get to drink a wine that is from the only vineyard in such an important place to a culture - that being the Black Forest of Baden. But it's not just the vineyard, turns out those monks were on to something as this is a tremendous riesling. A classic Germanic wine, with poised sweetness to acidity, and ripe tropical flavours paired with spritely citrus acidity. For the money, this is pretty startling value for such a special place. If you love German Riesling (don't lie, we know you do), this is almost an absolute must buy.

About Kopp
Johannes Kopp is the 2nd Generation of the Kopp Estate, taking over the family vineyard and winery at just 22 in 2012. Since then, he's grown the vineyard holdings to 32ha and has converted all the vineyards to be Demeter certified bio-dynamic. Johannes and his partner Alina focus their effort on crafting great Spatburgunder, alongside Chardonnay, Weissburgunder and of course Riesling. Through these varieties, they hope to showcase the incredible diversity of soil that occurs in their unique pocket of the world.
Very old Riesling vines that produce loose-berried grapes of the highest quality, no bigger than a fist. Probably still clones before the mass-produced grapes of the 70s and 80s. The cool location of the monastery estate, surrounded by the Black Forest, promotes a fresh yet balanced acidity. Johannes Kopp has preserved the more than 600-year-old tradition of the top location. "Feigenwäldchen" and with this wine represents the absolute highlight of the Feigenwäldchen Rieslings. The Feigenwäldchen, characterized by its weathered red sandstone soils, has always shown a special aroma of vineyard herbs
