Like all the great Pinot's, you could smell this all day. A truly phenominal Spatburgunder awaits. Ripe blueberry, clove, nutmeg, sandalwood, red cherry - it's a long list of wonderful aromas. The tannin is so ripe, fine and all encompasing, it truly is reminiscent of fine burgundy. Deep black cherry, plum, red currant and a smokey, chocolatey core. It really is astounding wine. Can't quite believe that it's German, yet it truly tastes of the place. It's everything you look for in world class wine.

About Kopp
Johannes Kopp is the 2nd Generation of the Kopp Estate, taking over the family vineyard and winery at just 22 in 2012. Since then, he's grown the vineyard holdings to 32ha and has converted all the vineyards to be Demeter certified bio-dynamic. Johannes and his partner Alina focus their effort on crafting great Spatburgunder, alongside Chardonnay, Weissburgunder and of course Riesling. Through these varieties, they hope to showcase the incredible diversity of soil that occurs in their unique pocket of the world.
Our steepest vineyards were painstakingly carved out of the rocky subsoil. New plantings from selection massale produce great wines with ageing potential. Middle and deep rocky basement soils of the Pennsylvanium (>300 million years old). Arkose sandstone, claystone and slate, interspersed with light coal seams
