Uhlen is situated all the way in the west of our village, and has a much colder microclimate with a forest on top of the hillside. Like swallows' nests, countless centuries-old terraces cling to the bare rock here, forming an amphitheater that extends up to 240 meters in the semicircle of the river bend. The soil changes us as we move along the slope from east to west: blue slate, calcareous grey Laubach slate, iron oxide-rich red slate. This wine is a cuvée of the 3 slate types that you find within the Uhlen appellation.
