Unico Go Coming Soon!
UPDATE: Unico Go is OPEN! Find Out More Here!
We are opening Unico Go, an intimate five seat wine bar showcasing a unique range of Australian and international wines. We are taking over the old recording booth space at BRKLYN - a local gin and cocktail bar - on Rundle St in Adelaide’s CBD.
After witnessing the positive impact of our digital happy hour - “Wine for the People” - we wanted to find a space to continue to grow our connection with our community. Unico Go (‘go’ meaning five in Japanese) will have just five seats, and a rotating selection of five rare and incredible wines from local and international producers available every Thursday - Sunday night.
Unico Go is an extension of the Unico community. We saw the positive response that our digital happy hour was receiving and realised how much the lockdowns had us all craving connection more than ever. Although restrictions are slowly starting to ease locally, there are still some of us that live on the opposite side of the world to our friends and family, and we want to continue to create a space for connection that lives on beyond this time.
With community at the heart of everything we do, our new wine bar will strive to showcase Australian and international winemakers, with the selections guided by local guest sommeliers. There will even be a small menu of snacks available from Nashville hot chicken restaurant, Cheekies.
The hospitality industry has been hit hard this year and it means some incredibly talented somms are out of work. We’re inviting them to come in and curate the wine list for their shift, have a bit of fun and basically enjoy the easiest night of work they’ve ever done! It’s an opportunity to have an intimate drink with some of the most talented wine minds in Adelaide. The space is tiny, but really fun - you can book out the space for yourself and four mates if you like. We want it to feel like a hospo lock in, but open to anyone.
You might be thinking, “wait, it can only fit five people at a time?"; well the experience will be live-streamed every night via Twitch! People from all over the world can tune in to ask questions of the sommeliers - or just see their friends’ faces for a digital drink.
Basically, you’ll never have to drink alone again if you don’t want to. We will give our customers a link in case they want to share it with their mates, and they can tune in for a bar experience no matter where they are in the world or what their version of lockdown looks like.
