Wednesday nights are one of those nights that sometimes you just can't be even remotely bothered cooking. You've probably had a shit day, the week is halfway through, you're yearning for Friday and acting a little bit like it is. Wine glass is full, holed up on the couch, with a few cheeky boxes of your favourite take out. How good. Hopefully, you've got a glass of our brand new Fresh A.F in it and you'd be smart to do that because it's a total takeout wine. High acid enough to cut through anything delectably salty and just that 'lil bit fatty - plus it's just so refreshing. So in a fun new twist on Junk Food Wine Pairing, these are some no-fuss, classic take out parings for Fresh A.F.

A Burger

Burger Wine. It's a thing. A whole new world and wine pairing category. Move past your average beer and super sugary soft drinks and get some lighter style, high acid and chillable red wines - perfect for cutting through any grease, fat and cheese on a really good burger. It doesn't even have to be meat - a good veggie burger or meat substitute still goes ripper with some Fresh A.F.! 

Peking Duck

Classic Cantonese takeout might be the champion takeaway category next to Pizza - also a solid paring option! The value for money aspect is always through the roof, and it only increases when you increase the number of people eating - which is once of the best exponential value adds of all time. Whether your favourite is Chinese Greens, Shallot Pancakes, Special Fried Rice or Salt and Pepper anything, Fresh A.F will pair with it all, but the prime candidate is Peking Duck. Oh yeah. Bunnings Snag

A member of the Australian Junk Food Hall of Fame. An icon of our country that has been sorely missed this year. While some parts of the country will be reunited with an iconic weekend snack soon, it's been hard to suppress the craving for such a  supreme concoction. Wonder-White, Value Snag, Caramelised Onion, Barbeque Sauce (ya'll Tomato Sauce lovers can shh - BBQ is superior) - it's truly glorious. So if you're like me and been itching for the combo, you should totally get re-creating. Such a great afternoon treat - same with Fresh A.F.

Falafel Yiros

Tell you what this wine loves? Garlic. Loves it. So do we at Unico. Man, who doesn't really? A glorious member of the onion family (yep, just googled that) whose flavour simply cannot be replicated. Any good Falafel Yiros should have almost fiery amounts of it. Ingredient in Falafel? Garlic ticks that box. Tabouleh? For sure. And you best be slathering it in garlic sauce. Dumplings

Definitely deserved of its own category in this list, who doesn't love a good dumpling. Wonton, Gyoza, Xiaolongbao - no matter what creed, the dumpling is one of the great unifiers of food in the world. You could even make a case for empanadas or ravioli being dumplings! Dangerously easy to eat your body weight of them too. Ultimate paring? Well, chilli oil/chilli jam to start but Fresh A.F comes in at a good competing second!  

Coles/Woolies Chocolate Cake

Who even needs to spend your entire day baking a glorious and decadent chocolate cake when you can get one of the best from your local supermarket every damn day? Well, there are heaps of reasons, but a Coles and Woolies mud cake are a lazy and bang for buck alternative. We could debate the champ between the two until the cows come home (Coles for me) but man is it rich and gooey - in a good way, obviously - and Fresh A.F. will be a glorious refreshment from it, and it's juicy and jubey fruit aspects will make it feel like you're smashing a black forest cake! How bloody good.
